OppositeLock has been playing in the Brisbane music scene for around two years playing in a variety of different venues surrounding the Brisbane CBD and also the Gold and Sunshine coasts in Queensland.

In 2007 they were signed to Brisbane based Independent record label Hammered Silver and released their debut EP "When the World Was" in september of that year.

When asked about the influences of the EP Nic commented, "We are realy excited about the new EP, it has a collection of songs on it which we have worked over heaps and the end result has blown us away. Musically it is pretty diverse, we have strings in one of the tracks, some accoustic numbers and the opening track 'Look Inside' is the heaviest on the EP. The lyrics are realy important to us all, looking at different struggles that we all have, wanting so much to be different from our past, but somehow ending up to realise we have become what we never wanted to be. Often it's the times in our past, when we are so innocent that bring back some of our best memories."

Earlier in 2008 OppositeLock played once again at Easterfest in Toowoomba and leading up to that a string of brisbane shows including the Princess Theater and the Queens Arms Hotel.

Currently the band is writing and rehearsing material for their first full length album to be released on Hammered Silver Records
